Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 8, 2012:-  Eros Group, leading distributors of world renowned brands, today announced their fourth series of much acclaimed ‘Pass it On’ initiative with Greenfield Community School (GCS).

The awareness campaign which is in its 4th year now, is in conjunction with ‘Take My Junk’ and aims at reducing electronic waste through extending the life cycle of electronic products by giving them away to those less fortunate.

Speaking about the noble initiative, Mr. Niranjan Gidwani, Deputy CEO, Eros Group said, “We are pleased to announce the Pass it On Initiative with Greenfield Community School. This is the 3rd school we are partnering with and we would like more schools to embrace this initiative. Recycling of products in a fast moving technological world is becoming important as consumers seek to upgrade their gadgets must faster than the intended product life. Our partner, takemyjunkuae.com will collect the gadgets from the school and in case of heavy items from the residence and will recycle usable items and donate to the underprivileged. Items which cannot be repaired will be ethically disposed. Through ‘Pass it On’ initiative we not only intend to raise awareness on the impact of e-waste on environment but also encourage students, parents and staff to give their unwanted items a new home and a smile to someone”

The ‘Pass it on’ campaign was kick started in Greenfield Community School today with a forum for students, parents, visitors and teachers to tackle the e-waste problem in the UAE. Through the forum, the audience was encouraged to make a commitment to make use of unwanted products by giving them away or passing them on. During the one month long campaign at GCS, Eros group will organize various sessions for the parents to create awareness on the benefits of electronic ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’.

Thanking the GCS management for participating in the campaign, Mr. Gidwani further added “We are glad that this initiative has found acceptance amongst the society and schools like GCS are coming forward to be a part of this campaign.”
